Chair Yoga

With Julie Wheeler

Julie advises Gigglers to wear comfortable clothing and bring water, we go bare feet or non slip socks for those that are happy too x

30th August - Hand Massage Day

Anita joined us to show us how to do a hand massage on each other. It was a very relaxing experience and the techniques we were shown can also be used on the feet. Unfortunately at the end our hands were so slippery we couldn’t pick anything up. 🤣

9th August - Games Day

It’s lovely to see that the Gigglers are Giggling. We had a big laugh today playing loads of silly games bought to us by our Carol (without an ‘e’). I forget the names of the games but they included lip reading, chirades and team participation with a guess three words. All washed down with some lovely refreshing lemonade. (Perhaps we should contact the ice cream man to come next week?)

Line Drawing - 2nd August

Line Art Card Making with Julie

Line Art Card Making with Julie

Our newest Giggler, Julie, showed us how to do line drawing.

A lovely class presented by the beautiful Julie White. She offered us all a chance to try line drawing. So relaxing and so achievable even if it did start out looking like a boobie. The line drawing of a dandilion clock looked really classy and we all went home with a card to give to someone. Interesting chatter and drinks on a warm summers day, we were even treated to a cheeky beer. (A one time only offer 🤣) so refreshing. Next week a few requests. We thought a nice natter and some games maybe?

Crochet Class - 26th July

Look at these lovely ladies all learning to crochet 👏 such concentration with a sprinkling of laughter, tea and biscuits 🥰 A big thank you to everyone that came along, thank you to those that helped out with the refreshments and a special thank you to Helen for bringing all the supplies as well as some beautiful samples of her work 🥳❤️

Next week we are going to learn how to line draw with Julie ... hope you can come along to join our happy hour 😊

Coming On 26th July - An Introduction to Crochet

Crochet Parasol

Crochet Parasol

Something that has always inspired me to do different things over the years has been crochet. Why do I love it?  Mainly because of its diversity. As you can see in this photograph I have created a parasol.

I have crocheted blankets, cardigans, hats and toys. Here are a few of the things I have made.

I will bring to Giggle Patrol a few of my makes to show you. Also some hooks and some yarn so you can have a go. I look forward to sharing, what could become an addiction, with you.

Friday 12th July

We had our first Giggle Patrol today and was overwhelmed at the turn out. We had a giggle learning about each other with the task given by Lin to find out about the nicest thing about person to the left of you. Then we had to tell the group about that person. We had Kind, fantastic friend and many more (My apologies I can’t remember them all) And someone keeping their husband busy at home by breaking everything🤣

We were then asked to tell about one job we had had.  We found there were mushroom pickers back in the day, that were grown in hot manure. Oh the smell! We have ladies who worked in the bank and a teacher. Two IT technicians. A solicitor’s typist. We had a flautist, someone who had grade 1 recorder, and a singer too

We wondered, what should we do next week. Helen mentioned she would bring in her crochet. Give those that were interested a go by bringing some hooks and yarn.

So until next week… keep safe, have a think about what you want to do. If you do. If not just have a chat!
